Due to Covid-19 we have developed remote consultations. These enable us to continue to monitor and care safely for patients who are suffering from specific conditions.
Remote consultations may apply to the following:
- post-operative follow-ups and monitoring
- dermatological conditions: for example, verrucae home-treatment monitoring, new rashes or lesions
- ingrowing toenails – new patients worried they may have an acute infected ingrowing toenail, post-operative monitoring
- assessment of open wounds: for example, ulcers, pre-ulcerative areas of skin, healed wounds
- orthotic (insole) reviews
- rehabilitation appointments: for example, rehabilitation programs, exercise programs, rehabilitation program progress assessment, etc.
- other conditions may be safely consulted on remotely
Telephone triages:
- are only being offered for patients whose conditions do not require a face-to-face contact appointment
- are staffed by degree-educated HCPC registered Podiatrists
- last approximately the same length of time as clinic appointments
- cost the same as a clinic appointment
- may require a further face-to-face clinic appointment
Face-to-face consultations:
Many assessments and treatments require face-to-face consultations. We are triaging all patients to assess the safety and appropriateness of meeting face-to-face.
Appointments are at our usual clinics. Patients are required to follow the new rules in force which can be found here.
Please note: we are unable to meet any patients face-to-face who have confirmed or suspected Covid-19. Any treatment required during the infectious stage of the disease must be performed in NHS hospitals.
